I know it's been forever since I posted. Many things have happened the last few weeks, but in all honesty, even when I had the time to write I just wasn't feeling it. But now I know that I'm so behind that if I don't catch up soon I will start to forget!
Today's post is going to be short. I'm not going to write about Ko Samui or my recent trip to Chiang Mai. I will however say that my goal is to be caught up by Christmas with all of those adventures.
Today I want to write about two things. First, I'm just going to list (partially as a reference to myself) all the things that have been happening the last 3 weeks. So 4 weekends ago, Kimsha and Lieke visited me here in Chaiyaphum. That was awesome. The next weekend, Ray and I went to Khon Kaen together. She lived there 5 years ago and wanted to go back to visit and invited me along. Not much to tell from that weekend but I'll say more about it smushed in with some other post. The weekend after that was Thanksgiving (Happy Thanksgiving everyone!). The weekend following that I went to Bangkok to visit G - so much fun! She got a Christmas tree and I helped her put it up. Not to mention the amazing food, and of course, great company :) I came back from Bangkok on Monday morning (so worth sleeping on a bus to stay the extra hours), went to school, and that was it for classes that week! Tuesday we had Father's Day activities in the morning (the kids performed and there were some speeches) and by 10:30 I was being told to go home! Father's Day, to explain further, is actually the King's birthday so it's a national holiday. Actually, its such a big holiday that we got (an unexpected) 6 days off from school! Obviously, I'm not going to miss a chance to travel somewhere when I have an entire 6 days!!! So for the last week I've been in Chiang Mai. I had an awesome trip - I absolutely love Chiang Mai. Actually, if the opportunity arose, I would move there in a heartbeat - it is such a livable city. But don't worry, I'll share more about Chiang Mai in the next two weeks.
So that's the first thing. I certainly have been busy!!!
The other thing I wanted to mention this post is that in 2 weeks (on the 22nd) we will be hosting an Open House at our school. This is a chance for the parents to see some of the things their kids have learned and also a chance for us to promote our program. Our kids are expected to sing 3-4 songs and then we also do a skit of a classroom lesson. It is a huge deal. In fact, it is such a huge deal that the next two weeks we have no lessons. Class time is being devoted to rehearsing our songs and routines and getting everyone performance ready. This week, my regional manager (RM) is here helping out with the kids and getting them into shape. In some ways it is really fun - the kids like the songs we're singing and we've been doing a lot of laughing :) In other ways it is exhausting because it takes much more energy to learn a song for 50 minutes than it does to do a regular lesson (which can be broken up by activities and games and worksheets). But I'm definitely having a lot of fun.
So that's it for now - I really am going to try and get back on track. So until tomorrow?

I love reading your blogs... whenever they come, no matter what the content, and, most of all, to know that you are enveloped by opportunities to expand your life experiences, are making a big difference in the lives of the children you are teaching... their parents and friends, and that it is an honor to be included in your postings. As a grandparent, I am so delighted in you and proud of you, too. Love, Omo
